Whirlpool Appliance Repair

Whirlpool is the largest appliance manufacturer in the world. The early association with the Sears Kenmore (as well as “Coldspot” for you old timers) brand helped Sears to become the largest selling retailer of appliances in the world. Whirlpool has always been a very smart, practical manufacturer. Their appliances have been well designed, easy to use, well supported with a solid parts distribution system, parts are sold at reasonable prices and the retail prices for new Whirlpool appliances have always been more than competitive. Whirlpool has always offered enough of a product mix to provide the vast majority of people with the appliance products they want and need. They never entered into the high end market until they purchased the Kitchen Aid brand many years ago and more recently with the purchase of the Jenn Air brand (which was included in the purchase of Maytag, along with Admiral, Magic Chef and Amana).

Whirlpool has an excellent research and development team that have been very creative and innovative over the years allowing Whirlpool appliances to stay ahead of the competition in most product categories. Their customer service arm, although not what it used to be (none of them are!) is still the best in the world. As a brand, Landers Appliance technical staff rates Whirlpool very highly. You can read our thoughts and findings about the specific appliances on their individual pages.

Whirlpool is also one of the last appliance manufacturers who has been able to produce appliances that are cost effective enough to make them right here in the good old USA! And they are still an American based company headquartered in Benton Harbor, Michigan. For a history of Whirlpool go to Whirlpool’s website.
